Hello Monday - Tennessee State Parks

Winter has started to wane away, cold weather is gone, and wildlife returns.

Whether it is a free afternoon, a weekend, or a spring break, you have an excellent opportunity to get out and enjoy the fresh air. Tennessee is home to 56 state parks for anyone to enjoy, and you may even have one in your backyard! There are trails to hike, waterfalls to see, and fire rings to be enjoyed only minutes from your front door. Here are some great fun, healthy, and COVID friendly activities for your family to enjoy:

1.) Hike - Every Tennessee State park has at least one, if not many, trails for you and your family to hike this spring. Some parks have 100's of miles of trails and backcountry shelters. Some have easy 1-mile paved trails for beginners. Whatever it may be, go out and try this healthy activity while taking in our state's incredible views.

2.) Canoeing - Many state parks have lakes for you and your family to rent a canoe and enjoy the water. Even if you are a beginner, this is a great way to start because of the lake's calm water nature. Remember! Wear your life jacket!

3.) Golfing - Tennessee State Parks has nine various golf courses for any golfer to enjoy. This is a great way to enjoy the weather, get some walking in, and hopefully, get a new personal best! Remember this quote, "Golf is a good walk ruined."

4.) Camping - If you have a free night, camping could be a great escape from the house for you and the family. Grab a family tent, rent a space, and enjoy the stars and family time that comes with it!

Farm Bureau Health Plans hopes that your spring is a safe and healthy one. We hope that you take advantage of one of the 56 state parks in our great state!
